The goal of implementing a Diabetic care program is to assist diabetic patients to maintain and regulate optimal health; it offers the potential to increase patient adherence to self-diabetes management as well as increase Mercy Medical Center's compliance with State and federal recommendations and standards that can benefit the organization to continue to be one of the region's top choices for high-quality healthcare. For the implementation of this new policy training sessions have been designed for the staff at the ambulatory care outpatient sites of Mercy Medical Center.
