High vs Low Culture:  The world of cultural studies really became popular post world war 11 in Great Britain.  During this time period, the historic cultural aspects of British society were quickly eroded as people were exposed to and consumed pop-culture streaming out of the United States.

1. Why do you think high culture has lost out to low culture in much of the Western World?

2. When was the last time you consumed something that would be considered "high culture"? What was you reaction to this experience?

3. Some have argued that the depreciation for high cultural artifacts in Western Society has led to the dumbing down of the populace.  What role do you see modern education having in this process?
