An 80-year-old Cuban male has been newly admitted to your long- term care facility due to an inability to care for himself. The patient has difficulty turning himself and requires the assistance of 2 to transfer to his wheelchair. You have been asked to do a thorough skin assessment and to notify the charge nurse of any issues. How would you assess for pressure injuries on this patient? If you did not select a culture with darker pigmented skin also consider how you would assess for pressure injury on this color of skin. Using the Cultural Perspective as well as other resources, identify:

1. What you need your patient to do;

2 What you need to assist your patient with; and

3. What you need to do for your patient.
