Long Straight Wire A long straight wire has fixed negative charge with a linear charge density of -3.1 nC/m. The wire is to be enclosed by a thin,nonconducting cylinder of outside radius 1.6 cm, coaxial with the wire. The cylinder is to havepositive charge on its outside surface with a surface chargedensity σ such that the net external electric fieldis zero. Calculate the required σ.
