A crane operator was raising the long boom with two suspended cable straps attached to the hook. As the boom swung past the 7200 volt powerline, one of the straps brushed the powerline. The operator was electrocuted and his helper was injured. Another crane operator in the area witnessed the incident. The foreman was in the jobsite trailer during the incident.
