In maize, the A locus encodes an enzyme necessary for production of anther cyanine, a purple pigment. At this locus, a functional A allele is dominant to a non functional a allele. Kernels of maize line 1 are completely white. Kernels of maize line 2 are completely white. Pollen from line 1 was used to pollinate female flowers on a plant from line 2 and the ear produced 21 white pigments and 18 purple pigments. What are the parental genotypes of lines 1 and 2?
