The Affordable Care Act mandated that not-for-profit hospitals conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) every three years, and to include social determinants of health as a component of this needs assessment. Tax-exempt hospitals are required to learn about the community that they serve. you are going to learn about the needs of your community from the perspective of the nearest not-for-profit hospital in your area.
