While the physician is examining her, she complains of the following symptoms: she has been having severe preoccupation with having a serious illness, her somatic symptoms are mild in intensity, she has a high level of anxiety about her health, she repeatedly checks her body of signs of illness, and this preoccupation of having an illness has persisted for at least 6 months.
