The company I've decided to explore a little deeper is the Ford Motor Company.

Ford is an American automotive manufacture, who's lineage goes all the way back to 1903. Starting as just a small factory in Detroit Michigan, it has grown as a global manufacture, both serving many countries (Namely China, and other parts of south Asia and Europe), as well as investing in many other forms of manufacturing and innovation.

While their headquarters is located in Dearborn Michigan, they have several plants across the globe, specifically Mexico and Canada. Ford prides itself on being an American company, providing quality and a name to reply on; and while the brand surely is American, it is largely a global manufacturer, providing a good example of what it is to be apart of a global market (though some models are specifically assembled and for the most part built in the US).

Ford is and always has been primarily an automotive company, but in recent years has dedicated itself more to self-sustainability and inviting more clean-energy solutions for our ever changing market. They have been known to invest in other types of clean energy technologies, as well as foreign automaker brands (Ford Li Ho, Changan Ford, Ford Otosan, Aston Martin, and Ford Sollers).

To me, Ford is an example of an innovative American brand that has created not only several iconic vehicles, but a brand that is known globally, far outliving itself. Starting from an ambitious brand with minimal investors, it has become one of the only American automotive brands to continually outsell and innovate its competitors, as well as take risk and adapt with an ever-changing market. At Ford their name and lineage is important. It is no surprise that most of their employees are loyal to the brand in which they work, which in itself is a uniquely American thing.

I personally have no actual stake or investment in Ford, besides currently and previously owning Ford vehicles. I have always been a fan of American Car companies, namely Ford for its invention of the Pony/Muscle car era, and what joy and adventure that has brought me through my life. Though I wouldn't be against working for them one day, they aren't particularity on my radar as a company i'd pursue post graduation - rather, one to model for future products.

I collected my research from both my personal knowledge of the company, as well as their own website, which describes their mission, message, and history.
