Case Study: A 60 year old Latina woman with a 3 day history of intermittent epigastric & right upper quadrant pain that has increased in intensity over the last 4 hours. She is experiencing nausea, vomiting, & warmth. She denies chills and reports loss of appetite. Fatty foods have given her digestion but no nausea over the last few years. The patient usually has 1 bowel movement a day. No history or of surgeries, blood transfusions, recent travel, or use of alcohol, tobacco, or recreational drugs. The patient does not know her family history, has grown children, and has a partner who is present and supportive.
