Read the scenario below carefully and answer the following questions.
Scenario
You are a retail assistant in a busy clothing shop during the seasonal period. You are rostered to work during the 24-hour shopping periods at the busier times of 5pm to 2am with 1 other staff member.
Your co-worker keeps complaining about having to stay up so late and how they are so tired. They are working, but slowly, so you are having to cover the customers they are not attending to. Customers are walking out because it takes too long to be served.
You are also tired because you have been studying since 10am but do not like to complain in front of customers. Due to conflicting break times, you cannot have your longer dinner break until 11:30pm.
There is loud repetitive music pumping in the shop which is giving you a headache. There are boxes of stock to put away that have been sitting in the aisles since that morning. The customers vary between happily excited and grumpy and angry about the crowds.
At midnight, your EFTPOS machine stops working due to a provider error until 6am the following morning.
The Head Office did not send extra gift cards for the holiday season, so you have run out. It is upsetting your customers, but most seem satisfied when you explain that vouchers can be purchased online from the store's website and printed at home.
The following day, you get a call at 7am from your store supervisor. They are upset that the takings for the store were not as much as they should have been, and are angry that there is no EFTPOS reconciliation data available. They say they want answers but do not let you reply or explain the situation before they hang up.
