Question - You respond to a high speed (approximately 120km/h) head on, two-vehicle collision. You find a 31-year-old male patient in the driver's seat. There is significant damage to the front of the vehicle. The patient was wearing his seat belt and the air bags deployed. You are able to open the door of the vehicle to access the patient. He presents as GCS 13 (E4, V4, M5) appears to have an unstable pelvis, bilateral closed fractured femurs, superficial abrasions to his face and neck with minimal bleeding, as well as a 2nd degree burn to his entire right arm. On assessment there does not appear to be any significant bleeding and the patient has an alerted GCS and elevated heart rate. All other vital signs are within normal limits. You are approximately 35 minutes from a lead trauma hospital.

A. List the order in which you would prioritize, treat, and assess these injuries, as well as how you would extricate this patient

B. If both vehicles were travelling roughly the same speed as indicated above, what do we know about the energy transfer.

C. Detail all the treatments you would render for this patient. Include values and describe the procedures

D. Does this patient meet the Field Trauma Triage Standard? If so, describe which criteria are met.
