2. List the drawbacks of various surveillance techniques. What usually happens to terrorists when they discover that they have been discovered? Explain what you should do if confronted by the suspect during surveillance.

3. Compare the value and drawbacks of surveillance methods along with the types (moving, fixed, or combination) and methods (around-the-clock or limited) of conducting surveillance.

4. As a terrorist investigator, police officers should be on familiar terms with the many types of items that can be confiscated from trash (throw-away) situations. Explain how to recover them as evidence.

5. Explain the twenty motives of those wishing to become informants and whether they will be useful or harmful to the investigation.

6. You are on the investigative surveillance team as a case officer and must prepare a vehicle for surveillance duty. Study the list in your text or Lecture Notes on how to prepare a drab, plain-looking car so it will not be noticed and address the following concerns:

a. Discuss all that needs to be taken into consideration to transform the car.
b. Explain how to match the driver to the make of auto, van, or truck and what works best.
c. How does changing the car's driver help disguise it?

PART II

Directions: For part two of assignment you are to discuss the practice of Trash Cover in detail. Be sure to include when the method would be utilized and the pros and cons of this technique.

Your paper should be 1 to 2 pages in length not including the title page and the references page. Citations, references, formatting should be in accordance with APA guidelines.
