Question: List some of the qualities of pioneer trumpeter Miles Davis that made him the most important jazz figure in the second half of the 20th century. In addition list ALL of the instruments (in the order I present in the power point) in his famous nonet.

Check out Miles' classic "cool" sound here. One of my favorite songs of all time. Notice the differences between "boblicity" and "Tempus Fugit". These two provide a stark contrast between the aggressive style of bebop to the more laid back "cool" style. Also see if you can pick out all nine of the instruments in Boblicity.
