Your recruitment team launched a national search for qualified applicants to fill the position of VP of Marketing. The team analyzed the job description and job specifications, designed and posted job advertisements, contracted search firms across the country to assist with the search, and has been receiving resumes from employee referrals.

• The CEO of the company approached you in private today to request that you put his brother in law at the top of the qualified applicant list to ensure that he gets an interview. The CEO also expects you to "sell" his brother in law as the top contender for the job and do whatever it takes to make sure he gets it.
