Assignment: Sketching the Scene
By this point, you have researched your crime scene multiple times, and now you are able to sketch the crime scene in order to duplicate the scene for the judge/jury when the case goes to trial. Your sketch will help the judge/jury understand the area in which the evidence was gathered and the relationship with the other evidence at the crime scene.
Instructions
In this part of the project, you will continue to gather information related to the crime scene management process of the selected case. As this is a cumulative project, you will add to the project document you already started. Follow the instructions below to complete this assignment:
Open your project document.
Make any revisions to the previous sections that have been recommended by your instructor.
A. Create a new section titled Sketching the Scene and complete the following. This section should be 1 - 2 pages in length.
B. Using published photographs and/or videos of the crime scene, provide a rough (hand-drawn) sketch of the selected murder scene, identifying all required elements of a sketch. (NOTE: If an element is not provided, you will have to "fill in the blanks").
C. List and describe the various types of crime scene sketches used in crime scene management.
D. Describe the purpose of a crime scene sketch, both rough and finished.
