5. Explain the type analysis that can be used to analyse the eternal content of the business environment

6. Explain what emotional intelligence is, including and its relationship to individual and team effectiveness

7. Identify and explain the stages in the effective management of change and organisational transformation

PRACTICAL ACTIVITY

The following task must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in the management and leadership field of work and include access to:

• Relevant legislation, regulations, standards and codes

• Workplace documents including business strategic plans, policies and procedures

• Case studies and, where possible, real situations

• Interaction with others.

For this task you are to complete the following to demonstrate your ability to develop and cultivate collaborative partnerships and relationships.

1. Imagine that your organisation has developed a partnership program involving a joint venture for research of a technological product. You meet with the other
company and develop a partnership agreement. Write a partnership agreement that outlines all the relevant issues that you need to consider in this joint venture including answering the following questions:
a. Establish outcomes to be achieved from the partnership.

b. Explain how you will conduct ongoing consultation with your partner company.
c. Describe the communication solutions you will adopt to engage with your partner company.

8. Now meet with your trainer and perform a role-play where your trainer is the representative of the other partner company. Communicate the partnership agreement to your trainer and demonstrate the following:
a. How you will generate trust, confidence and support from the partner
company by demonstrating a high standard of personal performance and conduct.
b. Explain how you will make decisions in consultation with the partner company.
c. Demonstrate a range of influencing strategies to increase commitment from the partner company to achieve organisational requirements and contribute to desired culture.

9. Your organisation has decided to launch a media campaign advertising the new joint venture. Write a press release to make this announcement.

10. Your organisation would like to engage in joint ventures with other companies.
Write a report outlining how you will lead the establishment of positive
collaborative relationships within your company. In this report outline the following:
a. How you will establish processes that contribute to a positive culture within your organisation that embraces collaboration
b. What processes will you put in place to resolve conflict?

c. How will you organise and allocate work activities

d. Methods to encourage staff to undertake personal competence and performance improvement activities
e. Approaches to empowering staff to develop their own ways of working

f. Indicators and feedback process to be used to evaluate the health of the work environment

11. In order to establish further partnership programs you organisation will require the development of a partnership plan. Develop a partnership program plan that:
a. Contains the relevant organisation policies and procedures, including the relevant organisation policies and procedures relating to partnerships.
b. Identifies and incorporates the relevant legal requirements into the plan.

c. Identifies the type of private/public partnership the organisation would like to engage in.
d. Allocates the resource requirements to accomplish the partnership plan.

e. Describes the systems for reporting the results the partnership program against the planned partnership outcomes.

9. List four reasons why organisations seek to forge collaborative relationships and partnerships.

10. Explain the three major processes that can be established and used to contribute to the creation and maintenance of a positive culture that embraces collaboration positive workplace culture.

11. List three of the key principles to be applied when resolving conflict in a fair, equitable and collaborative manner.
