Assessment Task 1: WRITTEN QUESTIONS
Assessment Overview - You are required to write the answers to each of the following questions. Answers should exceed 50 words but no more than 100 words for each question:
1. List two (2) areas of legislative and regulatory context of an organisation and briefly describe what they involve.
2. Define the following terms in relation to an organisation:
a. Mission
b. Purpose
c. Values
d. Objectives
e. Strategies
3. Identify and explain three (3) techniques that can be used to cultivate collaborative relationships and partnerships.
4. List and describe three (3) data collection methods.
5. Identify and explain the type of analysis that can be used to analyse the eternal content of the business environment.
6. Explain what emotional intelligence is, including and its relationship to individual and team effectiveness.
7. Identify and explain the stages in the effective management of change and organisational transformation.
Assessment Task 2: PLAN AND IMPLEMENT, WITE A REPORT
Assessment Overview - The following task must be conducted at the workplace where you are employed /contracted. You must gather the evidence that demonstrates your consistent performance in the management and leadership field of work. You are advised that you must have access to the following workplace documents:
- Relevant legislation, regulations, standards and codes.
- Workplace documents including business strategic plans, policies and procedures.
For this task you are to complete the following tasks to demonstrate your ability to develop and cultivate collaborative partnerships and relationships.
1. Your organisation where you are employed/contracted has developed a partnership program involving a joint venture for research of a technological product. You meet with the other company and develop a partnership agreement. you have been asked to Write a partnership agreement that outlines all the relevant issues that you need to consider in this joint venture including answering the following questions:
a. Establish outcomes to be achieved from the partnership.
b. Explain how you will conduct ongoing consultation with your partner company.
c. Describe the communication solutions you will adopt to engage with your partner company.
2. Thanks for your partnership agreement and agreeing to meet the representative of the other company. You are required to communicate the partnership agreement to the representative of the other company and demonstrate the following:
a. How you will generate trust, confidence and support from the partner company by demonstrating a high standard of personal performance and conduct.
b. Explain how you will make decisions in consultation with the partner company.
c. Demonstrate a range of influencing strategies to increase commitment from the partner company to achieve organisational requirements and contribute to desired culture.
3. After the signing of the agreement your management has asked you to launch a media campaign advertising the new joint venture. Considering the positive message to local community and stakeholders. Write a press release to make this announcement.
4. You noticed that your press release was a huge success. Your management is highly delighted by this and have asked you to engage in similar joint ventures with other companies. You are now required to submit a detailed report to the management outlining the following:
a. Establishing the processes that contribute to a positive culture within your organisation that embraces collaboration.
b. Processes will you put in place to resolve conflict (CONFLICT RESOLUTION AND MANAGEMENT).
c. Organising and allocating the work activities.
d. Identifying and implementing best possible methods to encourage staff to undertake personal competence and performance improvement activities.
e. Approaches to empower staff in order to develop their own ways of working.
f. Indicators and feedback process to be used to evaluate the health of the work environment.
5. The management has now decided to promote you and make you in charge of collaboration and partnerships program. In accordance to the roles and responsibilities of your new position to establish further partnership programs your organisation will require the development of a partnership plan. Develop a partnership program plan that:
a. Contains the relevant organisation policies and procedures, including those relating to partnerships.
b. Identifies and incorporates the relevant legal requirements into the plan.
c. Identifies the type of private/public partnership the organisation would like to engage in.
d. Allocates the resource requirements to accomplish the partnership plan.
e. Describes the systems for reporting the results of the partnership program against the planned partnership outcomes.
Assessment Task 3: REPORT
Assessment Overview - In continuation to the work done in assessment task 2, you are now required to submit a report which highlights the skill and knowledge required to foster partnerships, undertake stakeholders' consultation, developing collaborative approaches to enhance individual, team and organisational outcome along with initiating and implementing partnerships.
Your report must be well researched and must be approved by your manager. Before submitting it to your assessor, this report must be endorsed by your workplace manager/supervisor. Appendix A is attached to be endorsed by workplace Supervisor/Manager.
Your report must include as a minimum:
1. Ways to demonstrate a high standard of personal performance and conduct to generate trust, confidence and support from relevant stakeholders.
2. Actions to be completed as part of developing and implementing communication strategies to represent the organisation positively to media, local community and stakeholders
3. Importance of consultation with relevant individuals and stakeholders while making decision
4. Influencing strategies that you have used to increase commitment from staff and stakeholders to achieve organisational requirements and to contribute to the desired culture.
5. Significance of involving selected community and professional engagements in a partnership project, to the broader community and stakeholders.
6. Outcomes that you intend to establish with business partners and the models for the effective consultation and collaboration within partnerships.
7. Communication solutions that are used to cultivate collaborative communities and partnerships.
8. Reasons why other organisations seek to forge collaborative relationships and partnerships.
9. Processes that you wish to establish and use to contribute to the creation and maintenance of a positive culture that embraces collaboration positive workplace culture.
10. Strategies that can be implemented to resolve conflict in a fair, equitable and collaborative manner.
11. Organising and allocating work activities that encourages staff to support other team members in developing their personal competence and performance.
12. Boundaries you will need to empower individuals to develop their own ways of working within?
13. Indicators and feedback processes that can be established and used to evaluate the health of the work environment.
14. Relevant organisation policies, procedures and legal requirements that need to be incorporated in partnership plans that you have developed in the previous assessment task.
