Topic:- 7 Life cycle of wastewater production for oil and gas industry.
Title: Oil and Gas Production Engineering Challenges and Remedial
AIM: Assignment consists of a group project that aims at producing a paper on the topic assigned to each group. The paper should consist of few case studies about the topic, appropriate analysis of case studies and less learnt from them.
Element 1: Papers. Assessed based on:
• Structure: Clearly structured report with appropriate use of tables, graphs, diagrams and subsections.
• Literature Review: Comprehensive review of literature relevant to study with a detailed knowledge of subject area demonstrated.
• Methodology: Correct justification of methodology demonstrating an understanding of values and limitations of the method.
• Discussion/Conclusions: Clear discussion of findings with logical conclusions based on evidence and a competent critical analysis.
• Presentation: Excellent layout, conforms to all technical specifications with clear expression of ideas and appropriately presented.
Element 2: Individual Assessment of the contribution of each student. Friday: 11h December 2020 (9-12 am) Online via Teams invitation General Guidelines for the Papers:
• The final work contributes 30% towards the total mark of hydrocarbon production engineering module.
• The structure of the report must include: contents page; list of tables; list of figures; main body, and references. Figures must be embedded in the paper.
• The papers must not be more than 6 pages of A4; excluding the table of contents and the reference list. The total word counts must not exceed 2000 words.
• The papers must be fully referenced; the reference list should appear at the end of the paper.
The paper should be submitted online via Turnitin system by 04th December, 2020. Each group should have a representative responsible for the submission.
Each group needs to select a topic from the below list:
1. Challenges of Subsea and Pipeline Engineering. Study of planning, design, construction, installation, materials and corrosion, inspection, welding, repair, and risk assessment.
2. Overview of artificial lift systems. Outlining the processes involved and its effect on well productivity.
3. Smart pigs and their application in oil and gas pipelines.
4. Hydrate formation in oil and gas industry, causes and mitigations.
5. Removal of SOx and NOx in oil and gas processing.
6. Scale formation and methods of prevention.
7. Life cycle of wastewater production for oil and gas industry.
