Question

An important theme in this class is that levels of inequality in the US are heavily impacted by structural factors and policy choices, not just individual choice. Talk about 1 policy choice that you think could help reduce inequality in the US. You must discuss policies, not individual choices (for instance, you could discuss changes in tax policy, or in school funding, but saying that "individuals should treat each other fairly" is individual level and is not a policy). How do you think your policy would be effective in reducing inequality? If possible, use evidence from class material to support your argument. How might you address resistance to getting this policy passed (perhaps by using ideology to convince people or by tailoring the policy to be more acceptable). Get creative and have fun.
