Now you'll apply your new inferential stats skills to the class survey. As part of the survey, you completed a few questions about your level of happiness. You responded using a Likert scale from 1 (not happy) to 5 (very happy). The key variable of interest is Mean Happiness - it is near the end of the data set. Suppose the national average for happiness among college students in the country is μ = 2.95 but we hypothesize that students at QU will report a higher level of happiness than the population of college students.

Based on your reading of the above scenario, which statistical test (that is, a single-sample z test or a single-sample t test) should we conduct to test this hypothesis? Also, list one of the assumptions of this test.
