The people's University is one of the leading private Universities in Ghana.The University has recently extended its operations beyond Accra,where its main campus is located,to Kumasi due to the large number of applications they receive from the Ashanti Region and its environs every year.The decision to have another campus in Ashanti Region was a smart one because the University did not want to lose any of their prospective applicants to their competitors in the region.As a result of this expansion,the University has been overwhelmed with its paper based systems which has aided data fragmentation across the various functional units.Besides,real-time decision taking became a problem since the University's data was n'ont centralized.In view of the above,management decided to acquire an Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP)system to synchronise the university's data and streamline their processes.While management was fully aware of the potential benefits of an ERP system,they were also sceptical about the success of its implementation due to the risk of failure as against the high cost of investment.With your level of expertise as an Information systems specialist,you have been consulted by the People's University to advise management on some of the major factors that could result in the bumpy rollout of an ERP system and submit your report.
