Francis, who runs a travel agency, seeks your legal advice on a dispute he has with Doris, an occasional customer. Doris had asked him to custom design a travel package to China for her and 7 other friends. Doris told him, "Design a good package and we'll go with you. Cost is not a great concern." They had a few fairly long discussions over the cities and sights to be included, as well as the type of lodging and the regional cuisine that the group was to sample. Francis laboured hard, doing research on the unusual travel route, speaking with his local contacts in China and working out the costs. Francis' initial proposed itinerary was rejected and it was only after three substantial amendments that Doris and her friends found it acceptable. On the day that Doris was to make payment at the travel agency, she called to say that the group members have changed their minds and have now decided to go on a cruise package with another company instead. Francis is furious and wishes to sue Doris. Advise both parties.
