What essential activities do the family and educator's roles in the learning process have to facilitate learning? Which aspect of the educator's role in facilitating learning is most challenging and why? What is most challenging for the family's role and why? Who is this more challenging for? Consider some of the following points: Learners are connected to local and global communities and events that influence their learning. Consider how culture, identity, and social markers impact genetics and prenatal development and future learning. Consider learning experiences for learners to identify and question economic, political and social power structures in communities, nations and the world. What rigorous learning experiences in culturally supportive spaces would promote advocacy skills, deep listening, thinking, collaboration, resource gathering and strategic actions. How would one make others realize that every family is an asset and a resource that brings diversity to schools. Realize that every family despite their race, skin color, ethnicity, gender identity, age, etc, wants the best for their children. Consider the community as an extension of the teaching space Identify systems, structures, practices, and policies that marginalize BIPOC and multilingual families, those living in poverty, and those with varying sexual orientation or gender identity.
