Discussion

Learning a language presents a unique set of challenges, from vocabulary to grammar to proper pronunciation. Some people feel that you cannot learn a language using technology alone because of the lack of interaction with a live person. Programs such as Rosetta Stone, Duolingo, and Babbel claim that you can learn a language with their tools alone.

Think of three technological tools other than traditional language programs like Rosetta Stone and consider how they can be used to teach languages. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each tool?
