Learners intending to examine large samples to generalize outcomes to a population or a subpopulation should familiarize themselves with quantitative research frameworks (Fernier, 2020). In most studies, the study's relevance is retrieved from the method, model, and approach used to collect the information to support the analysis. To critique a source, understanding the research framework is needed, and this will take time, as the doctoral learner must schedule enough time to read critically (Fernier, 2020). With critiquing a source, one should look for elements for influencing the believability and robustness of the research (Greenberger, 2021). Should the topic be new, the researcher will need a different systematic approach to evaluate the literature and sources to mitigate any biases that might come up (Greenberger, 2021). Additionally, the motive, decision, and action to stick to one system are that different methods provide conflicting information and data. Reading and reviewing literature and prior studies help doctoral students not only become better researchers, but it will also lead to making an ultimate decision to whether that certain topic is even feasible to turn into a dissertation. Just because something has not been researched does not mean that it should be (Fernier, 2020).
