This assessment is in two parts. Both parts should be presented within one portfolio document.
Part One - Reflective Statement
You must utilise relevant leading business organisations (LBO) concepts, models and/or theories and appropriate references to justify your observations, views and opinions.
Questions -
Why do aspiring leaders need to have a clear understanding of leadership theories and organisational behaviour?
What are the main contributions that individuals, leaders and stakeholders make in creating and executing the mission and vision of an organization?
Why do aspiring leaders need to understand a broad range of potential leadership strategies (and specifically change management strategies) in order to maximise organisational potential in a variety of different business contexts?
Why do aspiring leaders need to be able to critically evaluate a range of motivational (employee engagement) theories within a specific organisational context?

Part Two - Management Report
You must utilise relevant Leading Business Organisations (LBO) concepts, models and/or theories and appropriate references to justify your observations and conclusions.
Introduction - You need to provide a very short introduction to your management report.
This management report provides a critical evaluation of the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Starbucks leadership style.
It contains the following:
Overview of Servant Leadership -
- You need to define the term servant leadership.
- You need to provide an example of good practice servant leadership within a contemporary organisation (other than Starbucks).
- You need to provide a succinct overview of the potential difficulties and specific challenges of practicing servant leadership within the current volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) business environment.
A Critical Evaluation of Kevin Johnson's Leadership Style -
- You need to identify Johnson's leadership style providing evidence from the case study, his recent interviews and/or your independent research to support your observations.
- You need to identify the positive elements of Johnson's leadership style in terms of what is working well for him currently.
- You need to identify the negative elements of Johnson's leadership style in terms of what is not working so well for him currently.
- You need to identify Starbucks' key stakeholders and comment on why some groups are likely to view his leadership style positively and others negatively.
Kevin Johnson's Personal Brand -
- You need to comment on why you believe that Johnson's leadership style and the decisions he has made during his two year tenure as President and CEO appear to be having a very positive impact on his personal brand as a global leader at the moment?
- You need to justify your comments with reference to information contained within the case study, his recent interviews, interviews and/or presentations made by his critics and your own independent research.
