Leadership Theorem
Choose two of the ILF presentations and debate their lessons for leadership. You should use theory in your answers discussing how the case exemplifies or differs from the theory. Try to give attention to difficulties and dilemmas that are reported in the presentation as well as highlighting successes and lessons.
• Note again that it is important that you use leadership theory in your answer.
• Other theoretical references may also be used.
• Keep your answers short- about 1250 words each.
• Aim for an excellent standard of presentation, with good writing that is clearly set out on the page.
• This is a debate, an argument that you are constructing. The key is that you should substantiate what you say with evidence from the presentation concerned and from the literature where it is appropriate. Do not rely on unsupported assertions.
In this course, we set out leadership questions and cases that mainly focus on IT companies and projects. However, there is a panorama and we look outwards to the connections to leadership in other contexts and even self-¬- development. You should try to see and describe the connections, so that you can relate what is similar about leadership in technology companies and what is different.
