The Pacific is a very patriarch society where men hold power and leadership positions in business, churches, communities and politics. Samoa has broken such glass ceiling with the recent election of Fiame Mata'afa. Using your knowledge based on Chapter 13, particularly on "Gender and Leadership" (see page 337 of the text book, 7th Edition), write a 2-3 pages essay, on your views in anticipation of what Fiame Mata'afa's leadership style would be. You can also do some research based on past and current female leadership (example, Queen Salote of Tonga, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand, Megan Taylor former Pacific Island Forum General Secretary and others) to support your arguments on female leadership patterns and styles. In alignment with the debate and preceding evidences state if you think Samoa will experience sound leadership qualities. Also state if other Pacific Island countries should change their mindsets about female leadership and should vote women into top leadership positions in Parliament.
