The three concepts that I will take away from our class will be making sure my Leadership Philosopy is aligned with the Commander's intent, creating and sustaining a positive ethical climate/culture, and enabling Soldiers to have moral courage. As a senior leader we are able to influence personal power and position, so with that being said we have to use that platform to inspire, motivate, and empower our subordinate leaders and Soldiers. After you have completed an assessment of the unit, the leadership philosophy briefing to everyone within the organization will let them know that you and the Commander are a unified front and they will understand the direction in which you want the organization to go and the purpose behind it. Leading by example and inculcating the Army Values, instilling discipline, getting feedback, and having understanding will play a factor in creating and sustaining a positive climate/culture. Senior Leaders must make good ethical decisions for the organization, it will lead to subordinate leaders making them as well and the majority of Soldiers emulate their leaders. Lastly, getting Soldiers to have moral courage will keep everyone honest in the organization, they will know that they must always do the right thing by everyone because that is the right thing to do. I think moving forward and implementing these three concepts it will steer the organization in the right direction or keep it on a glide path that is aligned with the Army Values and Ethics.
