I think that one of the most important things that leaders can do to effectively implement TQM is to be open to what their employees, especially manufacturers, have to say in regards to production. One of the most effective tools we have within our organization is a system called EODIs. EODI is a data system that allows employees to do everything from hot lotting a procurement part in receiving to ordering a special delivery truck for critical shipments. In regards to TQM, there is a queue for hourly employees who are on the front lines of our builds, to submit comments in regards to the build process. This queue is accessed and addressed by support personnel on a daily basis. The queue allows for the employees who are closest to the build to quickly and easily share information with support in regards to issues. Discuss briefly. What are the challenges and how can we solve them.
