The nurses in a large hospital in a state that has “right to work” laws decided both conditions and pay were no longer acceptable. “Right to work” is a euphemism that applies to states where one cannot be required to join a union even if workers of an organization have unionized and have the authority to bargain with management. As a result, unions in such states are not as powerful as those in states that require union membership in unionized environments. The nurses are not currently unionized and do not believe they can effectively become unionized due to their state’s limitations on unions. While this is a serious detriment to their potential power, they still believe they can be effective in obtaining better conditions and pay. How should they proceed? (Answer in half page)
