It is good to observe that people live in a society that is comprised of culture, people, and different ways of life. Within societies, people interact with each other and form relationships guided by a set of behavior. The study particularly concerns itself with the social lives of people, groups, and societies as a whole. Furthermore, sociology deals with the study of the development and organizations of societies and how they came to be as they are today. Notably, to understand behavior and the root of different affiliations in society, one needs to gain knowledge on the social structure and institutions in society (Van Krieken, Habibis, Smith, Hutchins, Martin & Maton, 2013). The above sentiments suggest that sociology is a significant discipline that can be used in various sectors such as social issues like family conflict or crime and law in a community. Furthermore, it is an essential tool to understand global phenomena such as migration and growth and economic development of nations. Evidently, it is imperative to affirm that sociology is a discipline that can be used as a significant tool in understanding the frameworks of societies and ultimately gain an in-depth knowledge of solving problems that exist in society.
