Another friend leases the first floor of a building from her landlord. In her premises, your friend operates a tarot card reading business. The business has been struggling, and she believes that, in order to turn things around, she needs to change the juju of the premises. Accordingly, she wants to paint the walls black, lower the ceiling and relocate the HVAC ducts and piping to encourage better air and energy flow. As required under her lease, she asks her landlord for permission to make these modifications. Assuming the landlord evaluates this request as a typical landlord would, what do you think he will say regarding each of your friend's requested modifications? Why?
