Oil (p = 800 kg/m3 , u (mu) = 3.0 x 10^-3 kg/ms) is to be pumped at a rate of at least 6.3 x 10^-5 m3/s through hydraulically-smooth horizontal pipe with an equivalent length of 300 m. The pressure at the pipe inlet is 198 kPa (abs). The pipe will discharge through a port in the side of an open tank; when full, the tank will contain oil up to a level 6 meters above the port. Assuming laminar flow conditions, what size Schedule 40 pipe should be specified?
