Some reasons that food gets changed when it comes all the way from the home country to america is because lack of ingredients. Most recipes that people bring with them to America do not get changed in the process of coming over but the only thing that gets changed is the ingredients is because the lack of some of other cultered foods,spices and herbs. For that reason most of the recipes can get messed up because a person wants to substitute with local ingredients instead of ones that are harder to find. The country USA has one of the most diverse populations out of every single country and for that reason some meals get changed to the american version. For example one food that people think is italian but is not is spaghetti and meatballs. Spaghetti was a food brought to america and as a result of this Americans made spaghetti and meatballs from this not italians. Some foods from europe that I might eat myself is Gnocchi, this is an itlalian potato based pasta that is very commonly ate all over italy and europe. Some forms of food that i believe only get passed down through generations only because of their taste is defineitly pastries, the reason being is that the only reason they are significant is because of there taste.
