Summary of client with details such as age and background.
Dolly was born in Australia 16 years ago in a strict Christian Lebanese family and experienced difficulties with learning her entire school life. Dolly left her family home after being diagnosed with bipolar symptoms at the age of 15 and a major argument with her parents regarding her behaviour associated with the bipolar diagnoses and not taking her medication.
After leaving home Dolly lived in a residential home for young people displaying behaviours of concern for 6 months but left on bad terms because one of the staff members denied her access to her weekly allowance for not contributing to residential chores to maintain hygiene and WHS standards within the home. During her stay there, she attended school regularly and took her medication regularly as the staff monitored both her school attendance and her medication compliance.
Since then, however Dolly has been living and sleeping on the streets or on a friends couch and has not taken her medication. She has presented herself 5 months pregnant.
Dolly told about during her time living and sleeping on the streets or with a friend she developed an addiction to ice although claims to have taken the substance only a handful of times as she could not afford to finance the habit and relied on "friends" supporting the habit. She said she has been clean since discovering she is pregnant. Despite her homelessness she appears to maintain an acceptable level of personal hygiene and credits this to one of her former school, friends' brothers aged 19, who lets her use their bathroom when his parents were at work. In return for the favour, he asked her for several sexual favours and demanded she have intercourse with him twice. She claimed that his sexual demands did not bother her as many of the people she hangs out with on the streets engage in such activities in return for a shower, a meal, or a roof to sleep under. Since she discovered she is pregnant with his baby she has not been back to use the facilities, nor has she told him of the pregnancy. She did not want to contact her parents, because she left on bad terms and because her parents would have her put her baby up for adoption. Not that she is sure she wants to keep the baby, but she does not want to be pressured in making decisions she later regrets. She has come to the realisation she is not yet able to maintain a healthy lifestyle independently and hopes to help her pick up the pieces of what is left of her life.
