Overview
Throughout this course you will have assignments based on an ongoing scenario dealing with a company (Pet Paws, Inc.) that is considering establishing a corporate aviation department. You will be assigned the role of one of the key participants in gathering and disseminating information to company leadership.
Individuals and companies use on-demand air transportation for a variety of reasons. The same individuals learn of the value of on-demand air transportation through various means of communication. Assume that the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Pet Paws, Inc. asked for your assistance to determine how and why he should authorize an expensive exploratory evaluation to determine the value of on-demand transportation. He knew you were a graduate from an aviation university and have special knowledge regarding various types of air transportation.
The COO stated that he wanted to know who would be the stakeholders (both internal and external) and what would be their needs and characteristics. In addition the COO was concerned about the required communicative techniques that might be utilized to inform and educate the stakeholders regarding the value of this type of transportation. As a final consideration he asked for a short section of the memorandum to inform him of the key issues of on-demand transportation (e.g. appropriate operational structure, security, compliance, safety, tax requirements).
