Mio is the leader in telecom sector. At a recent press conference, the company president and CEO discussed the company's strategy for reaching to people below the poverty line. He described a contest called the "Mio Challenge" contest that will sponsor any start-up company that create mobile applications meant to improve the quality of life of people. He hopes the initiative will promote upward mobility to cell phone users below the poverty line.
