Julie is a 35-year-old school teacher and has two children at home. She is married. Julie has underlying Rheumatoid Arthritis since she was 28 years old. Julie is currently stable with her RA treatment but frustrated because she continues to have generalized pain. Her rheumatologist reassures her that the RA is under control. She has been having increased generalized pain for six months now and nothing seems to help. Her PCP tells her there is nothing wrong. Julie feels like she is out of control and her generalized pain is affecting her entire life. She comes to see you, a PMHNP, because her friend sees you and you have really helped her.
