Question - On 30 May 2018 Victor Ltd revalued land from $460,000 to $400,000. Due to an improvement in the market the land was subsequently revalued on 30 May 2019 to $490,000. Victor Ltd again revalued the land upwards to $560,000 on 30 May 2020.

REQUIRED -

a. Journal entries for the years ending 30 June 2018, 2019 and 2020 in accordance with AASB116 Property, Plant and Equipment. Indicate other comprehensive income (OCI) or profit and loss (P&L) for gains/losses. Exclude journal narrations.

b. Alternatively, if Victor Ltd had adopted the cost model, record the journal entry for the year ending 30 June 2018. The carrying amount of the land was recorded at $460 000 and the recoverable amount of the land was determined to be $400 000. Exclude journal narrations.
