Jenny was a teenage mother who was totally overwhelmed. Her baby was constantly crying and she didn't know what to do. In a dark moment, she decided to place rat poison in a baby bottle. She was just about to feed the baby the poisoned bottle when she changed her mind and decided to go to the movies with her friends instead. She quickly stuffed the poisoned bottle in the back of the refrigerator where she thought nobody could find it. Her grandmother agreed to watch the baby while she was out. The baby awoke two hours later. The grandmother went to the refrigerator and found the poisoned bottle. The baby was violently ill within minutes of drinking the rat poison, but fortunately the grandmother took the baby to the hospital where it recovered after the doctors identified the poisoning. What crime if any has occurred here? Who should be charged with this crime?
