Create ER diagrams using StarUML, export each of your diagram as .PNG/.JPEG format, and paste them in a word document. Only submit ONE word document with all your diagrams via Canvas.
Each ER diagram should include entities, relationships with cardinalities (both min and max), and attributes. All relationships should be named. But you don't need to indicate whether they are identifying relationships or not. You don't need to consider about associative entities. But you may have attributes for many to many relationships.
1. For the following description, express the relationship graphically with an EntityRelationship diagram.
A dog groomer wants to keep track of all the dogs that they groomed. They want to record when the dog was groomed, and when their next appointment is for the dog. Each dog has a name and an owner. Some owners bring several different dogs to the groomer. They want to have the owners email, and number to text on hand in case they have to cancel an appointment if they are ill.
2. Case notes of Contact Tracing, create an integrated ER diagram.
When a person with certain infectious diseases is identified a process called contact tracing takes place to try and reduce the spread of the disease. This process has multiple activities involved in it requiring the recording of a significant amount of information that must be organized and maintained in order to carry out the objective of reducing the spread of disease. At a high level there are two basic questions that people performing contact tracing are trying to perform. The first is to identify how the person who has the disease became ill, that is did they come in contact with that has the disease. The second is to identify who the individual may have infected that needs to be notified or followed up on.
The processes itself is constrained by many factors such as the time available for trained personal to do the contact tracing and privacy constraints such as HIPPA. To help reduce the time demands on the personnel doing the contact tracing we have been contracted to develop a system for the recording, maintain and reporting of relevant data. The first step in this process will be for you to develop an Entity-Relationship diagram for contact tracing based on the interviewing notes and information provided attached.
