A beam of rectangular cross section is 200 mm deep, 100 mm wide and 3 m long. It is simply supported at each end. It has a downwards force of 10 kN at 1 m in from the RHS and a downwards force of 5 kN at 1 m in from the LHS. Calculate both the bendin moment and the maximum stress in the beam.
