Issue Forum for Grant Proposal

Articulate issue of interest in discussion forum citing (1) a real story you find on the media and (2) information from the assigned chapters (peers group issues) on problems or positive prospects to justify the need for intervention.

Instructions:

One of the assignments of our class is a letter to a foundation to inquire about getting funding to support the a social intervention you design. Think of an interventionas a social program for a specific population. The intervention you create will be implemented through a nonprofit organization (an existing nonprofit or one you imagine).

Before you get to the point of writing the above assignment, you will start by articulating in a discussion forum post what will be the issue that your social intervention will address.Keep in mind that an intervention could be to prevent a problem or to promote (i.e., enhance, strengthen) existing assets or competencies in a population of adolescents.

This issue will be the focus of your grant proposal to get funds to develop an evidence-based intervention that tackles this issue.

In your post:

1) Describe the issue of interest to you, specifying whether it is a problem or apositive prospect of youth development.

2) Provide a hyperlinked URL to (and a brief summaryof) a story of a real-lifeadolescent(s) that illustrates the issue; a story you find in video or print news, personal blog, podcast, or any other relevant media outlet.

3) Justify the need to create an intervention that will address the issue, making sure you cite information from the assigned chapters on problems or positive prospects of youth development. (Specify the reading using-text references in APA style).
