Question: The nature of Scientific Data, when collected correctly (according to the Scientific Method) is to help us to explain natural phenomena, advance diagnosis/treatment in the Medical Sciences, and help us to understand better and explain our environment. The question arises though, that data, when collected in ways that are less than ethical should not be used because of the manner in which it was collected. Case in point - the Nazis gathered vast amounts of medical data through the torture of innocent humans, yet this data has been utilized to save millions of lives.

So the question becomes - is this data evil or are the people collecting this data that makes it less than desirable? Should we be allowed to use data collected in this manner to further our understanding of Nature?
