Case: You have been assigned to co-manage the Business Analytics team at your cable service company along with someone who has a Computer Science background; the idea is that you can pool your marketing domain expertise with the CS person's background and together provide better direction to the team. A major problem facing your cable company is that of churn; customers are offered sweet deals by other cable companies and your customers abandon ship and go to them. It is well known across all industries that it is cheaper to retain current customers likely to churn with special offers rather than to attract new customers. Your Analytics team has been charged to come up with a solution to identify customers who are likely to churn.
