In December 2012, a couple from Toronto was interviewed about their decision not to tell the world whether their child, whom they named Storm, was biologically male or female.

These parents are accused by some of performing a 'social experiment' on their child with possible social consequences which could be worse than being exposed to gender biases. Do you agree or disagree?
Is there something wrong with having a gender? Why would people argue that gender is not that important? Are they too entrenched in elite discourse?
This story brought forth a lot of controversy and garnered international attention from the media. Use your sociological imagination to explain why this happened.
