Eli is a skilled carpenter. He has worked for Fox, a general contractor, on several other jobs. Fox calls Eli and asks if he can do some specialty carpentry work at a client’s home. Eli agrees and, upon completion, hands Fox an invoice for $2,500 based on an hourly rate of $50/hour. Fox refuses to pay saying he never agreed to $50/hour.
