The Mansfield School District wants to predict student enrollments for next year. It hires Daniel Mazmanian Educational Consultants to do this work. Using data from 1989 through 2011 (1989 = year 1), the consultants assume that all past trends will continue and use a time series regression to predict the total number of students enrolled (Y). They get the following:
